Two different perspectives

One of the two guinea pigs that I live with can be considered plump, or chubby, as Wiggley's Vet puts it.

He usually appears 'larger' than the other guinea pig when photographed, or perhaps it is the way I portray Wiggley knowing that he's the slightly larger guinea pig of the two.

However, if a chubby guinea pig is placed on a deck chair and photographed in the context of the environment, he too can look tiny.

I made these on an overcast Saturday afternoon which also gave it a slightly dusk-like atmosphere when compared with images I have made on Winter evenings.

Remember this dog, redbubble group feature and giving back

This portrait I made of a speckled cattle dog called Sheeza in September was featured on the redbubble group "In Dogs We Trust".

Sheeza was rescued by AWDRI and is now available for adoption.

I hope this will help highlight Sheeza's plight and find her a new home soon.

Proceeds from sales of artwork of working dogs I photographed for rehoming through the AWDRI that are featured on my redbubble page will go to the AWDRI in helping these dogs find a new home.

You can do your part to help too, grab a couple of postcards, greeting cards, note cards from this link and send them to your friends.

Douglas the Shih-Tzu King Charles Spaniel

My iMac was acting a bit funny last week — it had slowed down considerably during processing so this took longer than usual to publish.

Last Tuesday, I got to meet and photograph Douglas and his 'parents', Naoko and Ren. He's one very lucky dog whose mum is the creator and proprietor of Sydney's first pet restaurant, Chew Chew! I got to hang out while Douglas had his brunch — a meal freshly prepared by his Mum.

I must say I got hungry at the sight and smell of Douglas' meal, and got hungrier when I watched Douglas eat.

After his morning walk, Douglas usually hangs out helping mum work the mouse on her laptop, while dad works quietly in the background. He does this at night too when his 'parents' are back from work.

Douglas or Doug, is a Shih-Tzu Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — I just LOVE how unique he looks. He turned 5 years old on 1st October, and still looks like a spring chicken.

Excuse me?, originally uploaded by twoguineapigs pet photography.

I can't get over how adorable, friendly and well-behaved Douglas is. It's no wonder, his 'parents' are wonderful human beings; humble, friendly, kind, hard-working and animal lovers. Thank you Douglas, Naoko and Ren for a fun  morning — I had a great time!

Scrubbed and cleaned

I had have never lived with guinea pigs until I adopted these two. I must say I am amazed by how much these boys enjoy their baths. It makes us all look forward to their next one bath — as we have done for the last 5 years.
